This Privacy Policy does not apply to information you and/or your Designee provide to or is collected by any third party whether through or in connection with your and/or your Designee’s use of the Website or Services or otherwise, including through any third party application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or on the Website or Services. You agree and acknowledge that Venwise has no duty or responsibility to maintain and safeguard any information you and/or your Designee may provide to, or is collected by, any third party whether through or in connection with your and/or your Designee’s use of the Website or Services or otherwise.

The Services are offered and available to users who are 18 years of age and older. By using the Services, you represent and warrant, on behalf of yourself and your Designee, (i) that you and your Designee are 18 years of age or older and are otherwise capable of forming a legally binding contract with Venwise and (ii) that your and your Designee’s use of the Website and/or Services is consistent with our Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable law. If you or your Designee do not meet these requirements, you and your Designee must not access or use the Services. The Services are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you or your Designee are under 18, you are not permitted to provide any information to or on the Website (including any information about yourself, such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address or any username you may use) or to otherwise access the Services. We collect this information (i) directly from you and/or your Designee when you provide it to us, (ii) automatically as you and/or your Designee use the Website (which information may include usage details, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and information collected through cookies, web beacons and other tracking technologies), and (iii) from third parties (such as our business partners).

Cookies and other similar technologies


We may place cookies on your and/or your Designee’s device to collect anonymous data related to your and/or your Designee’s use of the Website and/or Services. We may collect information about your device, such as your operating system, hardware version, device settings, file and software names and types, mobile network information and device identifiers. This helps us measure how the Website is performing and to improve the Website for you and/or your Designee on your particular device.

We will not store or track your and/or your Designee’s device location on an ongoing basis or without your and/or your Designee’s permission. Data Trends


The discussions at the Venwise events may yield useful information regarding business trends. You acknowledge and agree that Venwise may aggregate and anonymize such information (collectively, “Aggregated Data”) for sharing and publication among Venwise members and the public and that Venwise may monetize such Aggregated Data, in its discretion. No member will be entitled to participate in any revenues realized by Venwise from monetization of the Aggregated Data.


Slack


We allow our users to interact with each other through using Slack, an online tool and platform offered by Slack Technologies, Inc., in accordance with Slack Technologies, Inc.’s terms and privacy policy, available at https://slack.com/. By using Slack and the Website and/or Services, you agree to be bound by Slack Technologies, Inc.’s terms and privacy policy.


Why We Collect Information


The information we collect helps us to improve the Website and Services and to deliver a better and more personalized experience, including by (i) enabling us to estimate our user size and usage patterns; (ii) store information about your and/or your Designee’s preferences, allowing us to customize our Website and Services according to your and/or your Designee’s individual interests; (iii) connect you and/or your Designee with other users who are willing to chat about issues in which you and/or your Designee have expressed an interest; (iv) recognize you and/or your Designee when you use the Website and/or Services; and (v) contact you and/or your Designee regarding the Services.


Stripe


All payment transactions made through the Services are processed by Stripe, a service offered by Stripe, Inc., which is used for payment and payout processing for users.


Payment transactions are processed in accordance with Stripe, Inc.’s terms and privacy policy, available on Stripe, Inc.’s website, https://stripe.com/. By using the Services, you agree to be bound by Stripe Inc.’s terms and other agreements.



Third Party Collection of Information


Some content or applications, including advertisements, on the Website may be served by third parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content and application providers, and your mobile device manufacturer and mobile device service provider. These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect information about you and/or your Designee when you and/or your Designee use the Website and/or Services. The information they collect may be associated with your and/or your Designee’s personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your and/or your Designee’s online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. Venwise does not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you and/or your Designee have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you and/or your Designee should contact the responsible provider directly.

We use information that we collect about you and/or your Designee or that you provide to us, including any personal information, to:


  • Provide you and/or your Designee with the Services, and any other information, products or services that you request from us.
  • Present our Website and its contents to you and/or your Designee.

  • Give you and/or your Designee notices about your account.

Your California Privacy Rights


California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users of the Services that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We have implemented measures designed to secure your and/or your Designee’s personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure.
